  Overview UPNG Open College in close collaboration with the Schools in the University currently offers the following programs through open distance learning . These programs may be undertaken through studies from home/workplace and/or through a network of UPNGOC Centers.  Courses available in our flexible, open and distance programs may be studied at your own pace, time and anywhere. You will have high quality and international standard study materials coupled with videos and audios, and we are hopefully that you will also be learning via our Moodle Learning Management system in some of your course (s). Your study materials are developed by the UPNG academics in collaboration with international as well as local content specialist. SCHOOL OF LAW (SOL)

Entry Requirement Bachelor of Law  Minimum ‘B’ grade or better in Language and Literature and with an overall average of ‘B’ grades or better in the other  subjects in Higher School Certificate subjects taken. Science major students should not apply for Law.  (Note: The 2016-2017 Selection the actual selected students was 61 at the cut of GPA of 3.6 and above).

Students intending to take up a programme of study in the School of Business & Public Policy must take up the Foundation of Business Management programme in their first year of enrolment at the University. Students will stream into their preferred programme of study upon successfully completing the Foundation of Business Management programme with a GPA of 1.75 or better, and upon attaining the required grades in the Foundation Year Pre-requisite Course (s) of a given Programme of Study. Streaming into a programme of study is not automatic, as it is based on merit, the quota allocated for each programme and other selection criteria set by the school. SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCE (SHSS)

BACHELOR OF ARTS The following degree programmes are offered by SHSS under the Bachelor of Arts. Grade 12 school leavers can apply for any of these programs.  Entry Requirement BA-Anthropology & Sociology   Minimum ‘B’ or C’ grade in Language and Literature, together with ‘B’ Grade in Mathematics B or C’ Grade in Maths A, C’ average grade in two or more Social Science subject or “B” average grade in two or more Science Subjects. Or an equivalent of Grade 12 qualification or similar grades or GPA of 2.5. BA-Creative Arts   Minimum ‘C’ grade or better in Language and Literature, ‘C” grade in Mathematics B or D Grade or better in Mathematics A, “C or “B” grade in two or more Social Science and “C” or “B” average grade in two or more Science subject. Science Foundation Year (SFY PROGRAM)  All student who will be doing Bachelor's Degree in Science, Medicine and/or other Health Sciences are required to do Science Foundation Year program in the First Year. Admission to Science Foundation Year is very competitive with limited quota for only 250 student per year.  Eligibility   Student MUST do ALL  three Science courses (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and Math A to be eligible to apply for SFY Program. To be accepted into SFY Program students MUST Score A grade in Math A and B or above in other three science courses with minimum GPA of 3.2. Minimum Requirement  MATH A  = A BIOLOGY  = B CHEMISTRY = B PHYSICS = B LANGUAGE & LITERATURE = B GPA: 3.2  School of Natural and Physical Sciences (SNPS) is made up of six (6) Disciplines/Divisions, namely: 1.
